the challenge

Suunto marked its 90th anniversary with From Depths to Heights, a landmark archive exhibition tracing nine decades of exploration, design and wearable technology. Aspire's brief was to bring the London activation to life: sourcing the venue, building and managing the guest list, and hosting the event day itself.

The exhibition, curated by Finnish collector and designer Werneri Vanhanen and the Garbadura collective, opened in London before touring Europe. The London edition was the first of a series of European events, making the success of this opening chapter critical.

our solution

Heritage brands carry the richest stories, but telling them well demands more than a press release. It requires knowing exactly who needs to be in the room, and making sure they actually show up.

  • Sourced and secured the London venue
  • Built a targeted guest list spanning journalists, creators, run club leaders, fashion stylists and adventurers
  • Managed all guest communications and on-the-day hosting
  • Seeded product to key media contacts ahead of and following the event
  • Coordinated media partnerships to extend reach beyond the room

the impact

The London activation delivered across every audience segment, community, media and partnerships, with coverage and content still coming in.

The most powerful PR isn't always about the broadest reach, it's about the right people experiencing the right story at the right moment. The Suunto archive is extraordinary material: 90 years of precision instruments, explorer stories, and a design philosophy that runs from the Finnish Winter War to Himalayan summits.

Our job was to make sure London's most relevant journalists, creators and community figures were in the room to experience it, and to leave with something to say about it.

A reminder that sometimes the most powerful ideas are the simplest: a compelling story, brought to life in a thoughtfully curated space, experienced by exactly the right people.
