the challenge

Cyclists Fighting Cancer (CFC) provides lightweight bikes and adapted trikes to children living with and beyond cancer. As part of Aspire’s commitment to purpose-led work, we supported CFC to raise awareness and donations for its John O’Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE) challenge.

With just one month to deliver results, the objective was to secure national and regional coverage that would help the charity reach its £20,000 fundraising target for a Guinness World Record attempt – 14 riders cycling the route in seven days on a 7-seater conference bike.

our solution

We delivered a fast, proactive press office campaign focused on high-impact storytelling and imagery.

  • Targeted national, charity and cycling media with a compelling news release
  • Prioritised regional outreach along the JOGLE route to drive local support
  • Pivoted to the finish line as the key media moment
  • Secured professional photography to capture the record-breaking arrival
  • Partnered with PA Media to syndicate coverage nationwide

This approach generated strong visibility without placing extra demands on the riders.

the impact

The campaign exceeded expectations, helping CFC surpass its fundraising goal and reach audiences across the UK.
